Three Pequea people will speak into our lives by sharing a personal “sign up” experience

Larry Bernhardt— “signed up” for a triathlon – it was more than what he had in mind! He finished the race. “Run with endurance the race that God has set before you” Hebrews 10:32 – 12:13. God has a race for you to run!  What a challenging and exciting thought—God has given me a race to run. God has designed a purpose for my life—a purpose that I can discover and fulfill. This race begins when you receive Christ and His gift of complete forgiveness.  That decision ends lostness—and is the beginning of the race God set before you, are you still running that race!

Delaine Peris— has “signed up” to be an online missionary with Global Media Outreach. A Campus Crusade for Christ ministry that offers people the truth and hope of the Gospel through a secure website and internet network.  From a corner in her own home she will connect to distant lands to share her faith.  The write of Ephesians encourages us to “Be clever in the market place” bringing glory to God in everything we do by seeking the lost, strengthening the saved and serving the master.

Dotti Groff—got “signed up” on someone else’s computer—somehow, by somebody that got her personal identification. Convincing officials she is the real “Dotti Groff” isn’t easy.  However, she knows her name and DNA is known to God. “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39)

First is our Small Groups. This is an excellent opportunity to get you “connected” to Pequea Church. Each group will run for just 3 months. The current trimester will run Septenver – November. Most of our small groups meet in peoples homes and study a variety of topics. You can learn more and sign-up by clicking here.

Secondly we offer Specialty Groups. These are groups that focus on a particular subject for those that are going through a certain season of life. Check out all of our Specialty Group options and sign up today by clicking here.

Third we offer Study Groups. Many times people seek to go deeper in their walk with Christ. Study groups are clusters of people that get together, typically on Sunday Morning during each service, to study various topics. Some Study Groups decide to study specific books of the Bible. Other Study Groups discuss current events in the world and how they effect and form our Biblical worldview. Find a Study Group today by clicking here.

Home groups are simply that – a grow group of people that get together to build their relationships with each other and with God in homes. In recent years, Pequea has offered home groups to our community as a way for folks to grow deeper in their relationship with God, outside of the weekly Sunday sermon. Throughout Pequea’s history, many have joined home groups and grown in their relationship with God, staying connected to a small community of people for several years.

After a year of research, we have become convinced that a few adjustments to our home group ministry will serve our church and community more effectively. Here are the major improvements that we will be launching in September:

The “church calendar” year will now be divided into three trimesters.

• September – November (first trimester)
• January – March (second trimester)
• April – June (third trimester)

Starting this fall our home groups will meet in three-month segments, or “trimesters.” There are other advantages to utilizing a trimester system for our groups. For example, research shows that people grow in short seasons or “spiritual sprints.” Many people find their spiritual growth reaches a plateau when studying one topic for many months. Trimesters will offer various topics every three months: from parenting to women’s studies to hot topics to books of the Bible. The majority of home groups that meet year after year also sometimes find their relationships with each other growing stale. Exposing ourselves to new groups of people every three months will help us to interact with the entire community at Pequea.

Perhaps the greatest advantage to trimester groups is this: leaders who want to lead only have to commit to three months at a time. Also, those who want to grow in a group of other people, likewise only have to commit to three months at a time. With most (if not all) of us having calendars that are overflowing, this will help all of us commit more fully to a short-term group.
