Chris Folck – New Youth and Young Adult Ministries Director

Posted on June 2, 2013

Pequea Church is excited to announce Chris Folck as our Youth and Young Adult Ministries Director. After a thorough interview process, we felt led by God to choose Chris. His magnetic personality, willingness to preach, and his passionate testimony will be a great complement to our existing staffing framework. His ideology aligns with Pequea’s vision. Chris is coming from Toledo, Ohio, where he most recently worked with the youth at Maumee United Methodist Church. Chris is extremely relational and is comfortable with large groups of students where he is in his zone. We anticipate Chris beginning his new position at Pequea in early July 2013. Please continue to pray for Chris as he finishes his ministry in Toledo and moves to Lancaster.

 Chris Folck

Here is a paraphrase of Chris’ bio:

My name is Chris Folck and I was born in Toledo, Ohio. I have a 9 year-old dog named Maximus, a purebred Australian Shepherd. I am 28 years old; out of 3 brothers and a sister, I am the youngest (shout out to the youngests!)

I love One Direction, slumber parties, and staying up till the wee hours of the morning doing Mountain Dew chugs. WAIT … sorry about that last sentence. One of my junior high students stole my bio…..

I’m a huge Ohio State Buckeye’s fan. I am a lover of sports. Some of the sports you will find me playing are basketball, golf, and my latest … ultimate frisbee.

Some of my passions are singing (I will sing on the spot if asked), coffee shops, reading challenging books that test my faith and sitting down to hear life-changing stories.

Some of my favorite ministry moments have happened during missions trips, doing funny things such as whipped cream fights and side excursions while on missions, like white-water rafting.

My favorite life verse (as of late) is Galatians 5:1 “It is for freedom that Christ has set you free.” This verse is a reminder of the freedom that Christ wants us to experience every day.

The reason I’m in student ministries today is to help students find their identity in Christ, in hopes that they will make a life decision to be fully-devoted followers of Him.

I am humbled and grateful to be a servant of your church and look forward to seeing what God will do.

Excited for the Journey,

    Hey Chris!

We have the same last name, and both work in ministry–I’m a youth minister in Dallas, TX. Funny enough, I’m also from Toledo. I lived there before moving to Columbus and then to Dallas.

    Small world!
