What is podcasting?
Podcasting
is a way to receive audio files over the Internet. Many content
providers, including Pequea church, offer podcast feeds at no cost.
These feeds deliver audio broadcasts to your desktop. You
can listen to these files on your computer or load them on
to your MP3 player and take them with you. Each week the new messages
will be automatically downloaded to your computer or ipod
for you to listen at a time that is suitable to you.
How to get started?
All you need to
get started is podcasting software. Once you download and
install the software, simply add Pequea Church podcast
feed (listed above). The podcasting software will automatically
check for updates and download the files to your computer
so you can load them onto your MP3 player.
Step-By-Step Instructions
Three things are required in order to subscribe to the Pequea Church podcast: a computer, podcasting software (we recommend iTunes), and an Internet connection (a faster connection means a faster download). Complete the following steps to subscribe to the Pequea Church podcast:
1. Download iTunes (free download) |

| 2. Install iTunes on your computer (Mac or Pc) |

3. Open iTunes

4. In the horizontal menu appearing at the top, click "Advanced."

| 5. Select "Subscribe to Podcast..." |
| |
6. After a dialogue box pops up, enter the following URL (don't include the quotation marks), "http://www.pequeachurch.com/messagepodcast.xml" into the text area. Click "ok".

| 7. Now you have successfully subscribed to the Pequea Church podcast. |

8. In the podcast directory on the right-hand side, find the title of the podcast, "Pequea Church Message Podcast " By default, the latest program should be downloading to your computer. At the far left of the podcast title, an orange circle with a rotating arrow should display. This means a program is in the process of being downloaded.

| 9. The message being downloaded will have an orange circle with a rotating arrow too. Any other programs not downloaded will have a oval button labeled "GET" next to it. |

| 10. If you want to download another Pequea Church message, click its corresponding "GET" button. |
| |
| 11. Once the message is finished downloading, select the message you'd like to listen to. Then, you can either double-click the message title and it will begin playing or click the play button at the top of the application window. |

| 12. The next time you open iTunes, the application will automatically check to see if the latest Pequea Church podcast is available for download. We will upload a file every week after the Sunday morning message. |
