My name is Dawn Groff, and I am the Director of Children's Ministry at Pequea BIC Church. My husband Steve and I were married in 1988 and we have 2 children, Taylor and Erin. They both attend Lampeter-Strasburg School. I have been a Lancaster resident all my life, a graduate of L-Strasburg High School and I have attended Pequea since I met my husband. I have been on staff here as DCM since 1999.

Being raised in the BIC Church has provided me the luxury of familiarity. I was once a BIC child so I can relate to the changes, growth influences and blessings of a life serving Jesus Christ. It is my desire as DCM to speak the love of Jesus into the lives of the children in our church and local community by providing Biblically based programs and ministries for them, all the while catching them first with the aspect of FUN, building relationships and then introducing them to life with the Savior! My heartbeat is also for the unit of family. My teams seek to provide parents with the tools they need to relate to children in today's society. The programs offered at Pequea Church for infants through grade 6 focus on demonstrating unconditional love to children so they can grow spiritually, and socially. My teams strive to provide a wide range of ministries that will reach the "new kid on the block" and also the child who has attended church all his young life and needs more challenge in his christian walk.

Weekly activities for children under grade 6 include Sunday morning classes at 8:45 and 10:15 where we use a large group / small group format, media influences such as kids worship DVD's and provide kid friendly extra's such as electronic basketball, computer games and Game Boys. We also have a Wednesday Clubs ministry which runs from 6:30 - 8:00 October through April. Some other activities for this age group include our all night Lock In for grades 3-6, Community Easter Egg Hunt, Harvest Festival (alternative to Halloween), Kenbrook Camp for all children age 6-18 and our Family UNleashed, FUN, service where families worship together as a unit, learning valuable truths and virtues from the Bible.
