Over the past several months God has been impressing on the hearts of a number of women of all ages in the church to start a mentoring program here at Pequea. As we have met together and prayed about this ministry we have discovered that the need for mentoring in the lives of women is stronger today than ever before. Our society has become so mobile that most people no longer live near family. This has a great effect on the need for a local support system-someone who is more easily accessible. A younger woman may be looking for a mother figure if she lives far from family, if her mother is no longer living, or if that relationship was less than positive. An older woman may have an empty nest and be looking to “adopt” a daughter to spend time with. The demands placed on mothers are greater now than ever before. New mothers need help knowing how to balance all the plates they are called to spin. The needs are endless. The Woman2Woman mentoring ministry at Pequea church is a wonderful way to meet other women, and deepen relationships.
