Love Feast
(PEQUEA CHURCH) Pequea Church celebrated Palm Sunday, April 5, 2009, with a Love Feast. About 150+ people gathered for a community meal on Sunday night. Following the meal was an optional time of foot washing and reflection in the auditorium. Anyone who wished to go to the front of the auditorium could kneel at the foot of a wooden cross, which was surrounded by Easter flowers.
We then went back to the gym for a beautiful time of partaking in communion. The oldest member of each table distributed the sacraments. Following communion, we sang several worship songs with intermittent testimonies of how God has been moving in the lives of the families of Pequea.
Another highlight of the evening was our guest painter, John Paille’. John is from Penetanguishene, ON. He is a fellow who says he has always had some artistic talent, but is now using it in a unique way. Inspired by a man named David Garibaldi –who can be found on You Tube. John painted during our worship time, for several songs the painting looked like very random brush strokes. But then, at the crescendo of “Jesus, Messiah,” John flipped his painting right-side up and the painting was that of Jesus Christ… Amazing and Breathtaking!
A special thank you to all those who had involvement in this meaningful service, to God be the Glory.
